Hobbs joined Liverpool on his 17th birthday in 2005

Leicester City's latest recruit Jack Hobbs was delighted to have made his first appearance for his new club in the pre-season win over Kettering.

"It was great to get 80 minutes under my belt," he told BBC Radio Leicester after the 4-1 win on Saturday.

And Hobbs is convinced he has made the right decision in joining the Foxes on a season-long loan.

"When I heard of Leicester's interest they were the club I wanted to join. They're a massive club," he added.

"There will be competition for places but I've just got to keep my standards high, make the manager's decision for him and keep my place."
