Hobbs uncertain of Anfield future

Liverpool defender Jack Hobbs wants to remain at Anfield but admits he may be forced to move on.

Hobbs, 19, joined the Reds in 2005 after just one appearance for Lincoln, and played in five matches last season.

But, after slipping down the pecking order at Anfield, he moved on loan to Scunthorpe in January.

Hobbs told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "I'll either extend another year and be loaned out again, perhaps for a full season, or be sold on."

Hobbs, who has a year remaining on his current deal, believes that, like many youngsters at Anfield, he is being torn between fighting for his place in the side and moving on in search of regular first-team football.

"They are going to bring the best players in the world in. But it just means we've got to raise our game to compete with them.

"Wherever I go, I've got to be playing first-team football. Ideally that would be at Liverpool but, if not, then I'll have to look elsewhere."
