Imps criticise Arsenal over Hobbs
Lincoln director Keith Rowe has hit out at Arsenal after they missed out to Liverpool in taking 16-year-old central defender Jack Hobbs on trial.

Arsenal did not put a sell-on clause in any deal and it proved their downfall.

"Arsenal started moving the goalposts and wanted points taken out of the deal that we had verbally agreed," said Lincoln executive director Keith Rowe.

"Liverpool made their interest known 10 days ago and have conducted themselves superbly," he added.

Arsenal were believed to be ready to pay 100,000 for Hobbs but the transfer with Liverpool is apparently more lucrative.

Rowe said: "Jack will spend a week in Liverpool from Monday with academy coach Frank McParland and we are then expecting to complete the full transfer at the end of next week."

"I am not prepared to reveal the figures yet, but it is well in excess of the figure mentioned with Arsenal.

"Significantly, it includes the sell-on clause that we couldn't agree with Arsenal."
