Striker Davide Somma has signed a new three-year contract with Leeds United.
The 25-year-old is the Championship club's top scorer with seven goals and his original one-year contract was due to expire at the end of the season.
Somma told the club's website: "I'm delighted to sign. When I came here to try out I never imagined I would be in this position.
"The aim for me is to get goals and play a part in getting the club in the Premier League."
The South African-born forward originally joined Leeds on trial last season and after signing a short-term deal was sent on loan to Lincoln City.
Under the guidance of then Imps boss Chris Sutton, Somma claimed nine goals in 14 matches for the League Two outfit.
"Last season I thought I did what I had to do when I went out on loan, and that gave me the extra confidence to come back here.
"I've worked hard and the club have acknowledged that, and I'm really happy to sign a three-year contract."
