Leeds United midfielder Lee Bowyer insists David O'Leary's sacking as manager will have no impact on his plans to leave the club.

Bowyer was transfer-listed last month after failing to agree a new five-year contract at Elland Road.

And his agent, David Giess, told BBC Sport Online that O'Leary's dismissal made no difference to Bowyer's position.

"Nothing has changed," said accountant Giess.

"Lee is still on the transfer list."

At the beginning of the month the former Leeds manager had admitted it would be a "big disappointment" if the club sold Bowyer.

And Giess was keen to stress that O'Leary and Bowyer had enjoyed a good relationship.

"Lee was very surprised by the news of the manager's sacking on Thursday. He has always got on very well with David."

In the past Bowyer has said his decision not to agree a new contract with Leeds United was because he felt he had been "pushed out" by the club's board and in particular chairman Peter Ridsdale.

Giess also admitted that he had still yet to receive an approach from any club about the �15m-rated Bowyer.

"You would have to ask Leeds whether any clubs have made enquiries, but no clubs have approached me about Bowyer."

Liverpool and Arsenal have both been linked with moves for the former Charlton player.
