Kidderminster decide not to appeal points deduction

Kidderminster have decided not to appeal against the five-point deduction handed them by the Football Conference for financial reporting irregularities.

The Harriers chairman Mark Serrell says they have accepted the ruling and must now learn from it.

"Outstanding achievement on the field has been undermined by offences off it," he told BBC Hereford & Worcester.

"This is completely unacceptable and supporters have my word that this type of error will never be made again."

Harriers were docked five league points for breaches of the Conference's financial reporting initiative covering periods of the 2009/10 season.

I cannot stress strongly enough how much I and the rest of the board feel for the playing staff, management team, staff and supporters of this club over what has happened

While these offences happened prior to his arrival at Aggborough, Mark Serrell says that as chairman he is ultimately responsible.

"I still feel responsible for this points deduction as I am now the club's chairman and must shoulder it as so," he said.

"I cannot stress strongly enough how much I and the rest of the board feel for the playing staff, management team, staff and supporters of this club over what has happened," he added.

Harriers were also fined £5,000 by the Football Conference, although the fine was suspended for two years.
