Harriers boss keen on new players

Kidderminster Harriers boss Mark Yates is looking to strengthen in time for next Saturday's home date with Blue Square Premier leaders Oxford United.

Yates is pleased with his team's solid start to the season but says it is important to freshen things up.

"I might have to get one or two out on loan, and hopefully we might have a new face in before Oxford," he said.

"But it's difficult financially for us because a couple of players I would like to bring in might cost too much."

Harriers early exit from the FA Cup means that they are without a game this weekend but Yates says he is using the time to work with his players on the training ground.

"We will be massively prepared for Oxford next week as we have done a bit of work this week on a couple of things and we will step that up again on Monday," he added.

"We're right in the pack and we've got to be pleased with where we are but we also know we need to keep improving," he said.

"If we do that with the spirit and quality that we have got in the squad then hopefully we can still do something."
