Kettering Town boss Lee Harper has left the club by mutual consent after recording just one win in the Blue Square Bet Premier this season.
Harper, 38, took over the Poppies in November 2009 following the departure of Mark Cooper to Peterborough United.
He arrived at Rockingham Road as a goalkeeper in the summer of 2007.
A club statement said: "Everyone connected to the club recognises and is thankful for the fantastic contribution Lee has made since joining in 2007."
It added: "The board will consider any applications for the vacant position."
Former Kettering, Halesowen and Chester manager Morell Maison has been named as caretaker manager in the interim.
Harper initially became manager on a temporary basis during the 2009/10 campaign before signing a permanent deal in May 2010.
He came close to leaving the club last season after assistant John Deehan was sacked following their 5-1 FA Cup defeat by Leeds United.
At the time he said: "I don't want to walk out on anybody.
"But I have to stick by my assistant who has been sacked. I don't think it was just."
