No approach from Luton - Ladak

Mark Cooper

Kettering chairman Imran Ladak says there has been no approach from Luton for their manager Mark Cooper.

Reports claim Cooper is the favourite to succeed Mick Harford after he departed Kenilworth Road last week.

Ladak told BBC Three Counties Radio: "Mark is doing a great job, but if Luton attracts him I couldn't stand in his way if certain clauses were met."

Cooper said that there is "a chance" Saturday's 1-0 win at Eastbourne was his last game in charge of the Poppies.

When asked by BBC Radio Northampton if he might not be in charge for Kettering's next match the 40-year-old replied: "There's always a chance, isn't there?"

Cooper took charge of Kettering, who currently lie second in the Blue Square Premier, in May 2007.

He added: "I don't think they [Kettering fans] should be worried.

"They're second in the table with 30 points and are chasing Oxford United down.

"There are some fantastic football players and characters in the dressing room so there's no way at all they should be worried."
