Nicky Eaden's Kettering side are closing in on the play-off places
Kettering Town player-coach Nicky Eaden admitted his relief at Tuesday night's 1-0 win over Lewes in the Blue Square Premier Division.
The former Barnsley, Birmingham and Wigan defender saw Jean-Paul Marna score the Poppies' winner at the A-Line Arena after 24 minutes.
"It was an important win for us because it was our next game," Eaden, 36, told BBC Radio Northampton.
"And we've so many matches coming up, all we can do is look one game ahead."
Kettering are in the middle of a hectic run of fixtures that sees them play four times in the space of eight days.
They are currently 10th in the Blue Square Premier Division table, but have moved to within six points of the play-off places.
"We've got Oxford United on Thursday night and it's physically impossible to get them (the players) back up to the same levels with only one day's rest," Eaden added.
"But they've got to be professional. It'll be a tough test but you have to roll your sleeves up and get on with it."
