Ipswich Town goalkeeping coach James Hollman says Robert Green should keep his starting place for England despite his error against the United States.
Hollman spent five years at Norwich where he worked with Green.
He told BBC Radio Suffolk: "Rob will have his own strategies that I saw him using when he was at Norwich.
"There were errors but he dealt with them and that's a sign of how strong he is. I think he'll bounce back from this, no problem."
Green fumbled a weak shot across his goal line as the United States equalised in the World Cup group match in South Africa.
Hollman said: "No matter how much self-belief or confidence you've got there'll always be a little doubt creeping in.
"Goalkeepers fall in to one of three categories after a mistake like that.

"They'll either try and make up for it, they'll shy away and won't perform, or they'll continue as if nothing's happened.
"We saw in the game after the mistake that he was as cool as ice and carried on as if nothing had happened.
"He was chosen as the number one over the other two and I can't see the benefits of leaving him out. This is something he knows how to put right."
