Ipswich Town have recalled defender Pim Balkestein from his loan spell at League One club Brentford.
The Championship side have used their 24-hour recall option in the loan deal that was extended on 21 December.
Balkestein, who joined Ipswich in 2008, made eight appearances for the Bees during which time the club conceded just four goals.
The 22-year-old is likely to be in the Town squad for Saturday's FA Cup game at Blackpool on 2 January.
It is believed he is needed at Portman Road as cover for David Wright who is struggling with an ankle injury.
