Brentford extend Ipswich Town's Pim Balkestein's loan

Ipswich Town's Dutch defender Pim Balkestein will be permitted to stay at Brentford on loan for another month.

The 22-year-old will remain at Griffin Park until 17 January, but will not be allowed to play in Brentford's FA Cup tie against Doncaster on 2 January.

Ipswich will also have a 24-hour recall option on the player, who has made six appearances the Bees so far.

"Pim's an example of a player benefitting from a loan," Roy Keane told the club's official website.

"He's doing well and Brentford have a good player so everyone gains from it," continued Keane. "If I can get more of our younger players out on loan in January, I will do so."
