Norris joined Ipswich Town from Plymouth Argyle in January 2008
Ipswich Town midfielder David Norris has admitted the club's fans have only seen the best of him periodically.
The 28-year-old, who is currently recovering from knee surgery, told BBC Suffolk: "When I first came I had a little injury.
"The next season I played a lot of games but it wasn't a successful season because the aim was the play-offs.
"Here and there I've played well but I'd like to contribute a lot more and I intend to do that when I'm back."
Norris has been out of action since the opening game of the season, when he sustained knee ligament damage in the defeat at Coventry City.
And the former Plymouth midfielder hopes to be back in action before the end of the year.
The manager [Roy Keane] was brilliant because obviously he's been through a similar injury

"I saw a specialist just a couple of days ago," he said. "He seemed pleasantly surprised by how the knee looked and how I was getting a bit more muscle definition in my thighs.
"As long as I don't have any setbacks it should be a lot closer to four months than the six [that were initially predicted]."
Norris also acknowledged the support he has received during his rehabilitation.
"The manager [Roy Keane] was brilliant because obviously he's been through a similar injury," he said.
"He called me into his office and told me not to worry about things and to stay strong mentally because my fitness would take care of itself, so that was nice to hear.
"The lads have been good as well, they've involved me in the banter and things because it's easy to feel a bit like a spare part when you're out injured. "
