Former Ipswich midfielder Darren Currie says the club have made a wise choice in new assistant manager John Gorman.
Currie - who returned to Portman Road with Chesterfield on Saturday - played for the Scotsman at Wycombe Wanderers.
He has told BBC Radio Suffolk: "There's no better football man than John, he's an unbelievable human being as well as a brilliant coach.
"He is great to have around the changing room and obviously his knowledge is second to none."
"I can't talk highly enough about John, he is up there with the two or three people I respect the most throughout my career."
Currie made 89 appearances for Ipswich Town between December 2004 and July 2007.
