Green, a 150,000 signing from Newcastle United earlier this season, had been dropped by manager Peter Taylor. But rather than stick to club regulations and attend the game, the 21-year-old is believed to have gone to watch Carlisle play against Kidderminster. "He (Green) hasn't showed up so he will be disciplined by the club for that. I'm not prepared to say what that will be. It is an internal matter," Taylor confirmed. "The rules are all the players must turn up to watch games, unless they have got permission to be elsewhere. Stuart knew what the position was. "People like Dean Keates and Richie Appleby, who have been out for absolutely yonks, have been to every home game. I am disappointed with Stuart. "Apparently, he went to watch Carlisle. Obviously, I will be talking to him this week to see what he has to say but I'm not happy," Taylor told the Hull Daily Mail newspaper. Green, who is likely to be fined, spent a spell on loan at Carlisle last season and had been linked with a move to Brunton Park before joining Hull. City chairman Adam Pearson described his appearance at Carlisle as "at the very best a misguided reaction to being left out of the squad". Meanwhile, City hope to sign a big striker later this week. |
