Pearce never made a first-team appearance at Birmingham
Huddersfield have bolstered their defensive options by bringing in Birmingham City's Krystian Pearce on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old has joined the Terriers in time to make his debut in Tuesday's home game against Bristol Rovers.
He spent the first half of the season on loan at Peterborough but made just five appearances.
Over the past two seasons Pearce has also enjoyed loan spells with Notts County, Port Vale and Scunthorpe.
He helped the Iron win promotion from League One and reach the final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy last season and Terriers boss Lee Clark believes that experience will prove valuable to his team.
Clark told the club's website: "He started 38 games for Scunthorpe last season as they went up to the Championship and he has all the attributes that maybe we are lacking in the defensive areas - he has a lot of power and pace.
"He's a young player that wants to improve, so he fits our criteria."
