Huddersfield Town midfielder James Berrett has signed a new three-year deal with the League One club.
The 20-year-old Republic of Ireland Under-21 international has made 29 first-team appearances since making his debut in January 2008.
Berrett told the club website: "I think the club is going places and I want to be a part of it.
"You can see the quality the recent signings possess and it's indicative of the way the club is moving."
He continued: "I'm sure more will be coming in and I hope we can really achieve something here next season.
"I am still learning as a player - I have definitely improved this year both physically and technically.
I can see him playing a vital role over the coming season
Huddersfield manager Lee Clark on James Berrett
"I want to keep pushing myself and make next season a big one for me.
"I've seen a bit of action in the first team already but now I really want to get a spot in the team and hang onto it."
Manager Lee Clark said he had no hesitation in offering Berrett a new deal.
"I have talked to him about the situation and I can see him playing a vital role over the coming season," he said.
"He is a very good footballer that possesses the whole package that a midfield player needs and I am looking forward to him breaking into the first 11."
Meanwhile Town striker Phil Jevons has extended his loan at League Two side Bury by a week to help their play-off ambitions.
Bury take on Shrewsbury over two legs for the right to play either Gillingham or Rochdale in the Wembley final.
Jevons has made seven appearances for Bury, scoring twice.
