Werling made 19 appearances during his spell at Oakwell
New Huddersfield Town signing Dominik Werling has targeted promotion with his new club.
The 26-year-old left-back joined the League One club on a six-month contract on Tuesday, with an option to extend.
Werling told the club website: "As a club, we have to go to the Championship. The whole place is very professional and together.
"The club definitely has the potential - you could see that in the win over Swindon," added the German.
Werling, who spent the first half of last season with Barnsley, became Lee Clark's first signing as Huddersfield manager.
"It is great to be back in England for a second stint because my time at Barnsley was also great. I am happy to be back," said Werling.
I want to do much better here than I did at Barnsley

"All the players in the team have been nice to me and have given me confidence because it is not easy to come over on trial.
"The manager has also been great, just like everyone else has been.
"Barnsley was a long time ago and now I am in Huddersfield, I am very happy to be here.
"I came and watched the game here last Saturday and the atmosphere was fantastic and the players were great. Huddersfield dominated from the first second to the last."
Werling has been without a club since being released by German side Erzgebirge Aue and is looking to rebuild his career at Huddersfield.
"I think having a contract until the end of the season suits both sides because I have been out of football for a while and the club is new to me," he said.
"If everything goes well, hopefully I will stay here.
"I want to say 'thank you' to Huddersfield for giving me a chance - now I will give everything to get better and do well for the club.
"I want to do much better here than I did at Barnsley when England was new to me, as now I know the football."
