Huddersfield midfielder Michael Collins has backed the appointment of Lee Clark as the club's new manager.
The former Newcastle player has now left his role as assistant manager at Norwich City and will take over at the League One outfit on Monday.
Collins told BBC Radio Leeds: "I think this is a step in the right direction for the club.
"Everyone at the club is in high spirits and really excited about it. Hopefully we can produce for him."
He has been an inspired figure in the Town side since the departure of former boss Stan Ternent at the beginning of November.
The 22-year-old has scored all four of his goals this season under caretaker manager Gerry Murphy.
Collins added: "He will be a young ambitious manager and should be as hungry as the players are to get success.

"If you look at the new manager's record as a player he's played at the highest level, so he'll bring major experience.
"In my opinion we have a lot of lads here that could play at a higher level, so hopefully he can get the best out of what's already here.
"I hope he can take us to another level, I'm really looking forward to it."
