New Huddersfield manager Lee Clark enjoyed a winning start to his management career after two late goals sealed victory over Hereford.
After creating a number of first-half chances, keeper Alex Smithies had to keep the hosts in it with saves from Lionel Ainsworth and Steve Guinan.
And against the run of play Nathan Clarke's shot put the hosts ahead.
The home side wrapped up victory when Phil Jevons and Gary Roberts worked a one-two and the latter fired in.
Huddersfield Town manager Lee Clark told BBC Radio Leeds:
"I knew I was inheriting a good group of lads, who were playing at their most confident.
"But what they showed in this game in the second half when we were under pressure is that they are all prepared to stand up and be counted and that's a great attribute to have.
"We played some great football in the first half especially too."
Hereford United manager Graham Turner told BBC Hereford and Worcester:
"We started the game well, but then got just a little bit disorganised with the method that Huddersfield were playing with three centre-halves and the deep-lying midfield player.
"We sorted one or two things out at half-time and I thought we had a terrific second half.
