Histon boss Steve Fallon was delighted with the way his side reacted to two straight league defeats by beating Grays 4-1 on Tuesday night.
The Stutes blew away the Essex side with midfielder Jamie Barker claiming a first-half hat-trick.
Fallon told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "There all still one or two who question whether Jamie should be in the side and he's proved them wrong again.
"It was a vital game for us, we've got a 4-1 win and we'll take that."
Histon remain third in the Blue Square Premier, seven points behind Cambridge United who claimed a 2-0 win over Barrow.

Captain Mat Mitchell-King was struggling towards the end of the match, but Fallon expects him to be fine for Stevenage next week.
"Matt's got a bit of a groin strain, but he should be alright, as should Jamie who also took a knock," he said.
"With a few extra days until our next game that should help us and hopefully we'll have Danny Wright back."
