Histon consider goalkeeper loan

Danny Naisbitt
Naisbitt has been suffering with a mystery injury.

Histon boss Steve Fallon has revealed that he could be forced to bring in a loan goalkeeper ahead of the Boxing Day derby with Cambridge United.

Regular stopper Danny Naisbitt is struggling with a mystery injury.

Fallon told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "We tried to get Mark Tyler from Peterborough, but after consideration he turned us down.

"It was fine with Barry Fry and the chairman, but we're now looking around elsewhere locally."

Naisbitt was passed fit to play in the Stutes' 4-1 defeat at Torquay on Saturday, but Fallon says his number one was far from his usual self.

"It's a mysterious injury, something in his head is not right, so we'll leave it for as long as possible and it may just disappear," he said.

"At Torquay he could do everything except kick it off the floor, but his all round game became edgy."

Fallon has spent the past few says assessing his options ahead of the trip to Cambridge United, and will leave a final decision until the last possible moment.

"We've got three options for the Cambridge United game and we won't make the decision until we have to," he said.

"[Reserve 'keeper] Joe Welch is untested and if we get another goalkeeper in there's going to be a lot of people there, a big atmosphere, we need to make sure any new 'keeper is ready."
