Baldwin has defended Histon's decision to postpone the game with Cambridge
Histon have chosen to postpone their New Year's Day clash with Cambridge United at the Glass World Stadium.
The club were offered the option by the Football Conference board because of the Stutes' FA Cup third round tie with Swansea City two days later.
Histon chairman Gareth Baldwin told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I think anyone, if they set aside their rivalries for one moment, would do exactly the same.
"Every other club who has been offered the option has taken it up."
The Christmas and New Year fixture list has become congested for Histon, with the Stutes playing the U's on Boxing Day, Grays Athletic on 28 December and the Swansea tie on 3 January.
But, the New Year's Day postponement has created a void in the U's fixture list, with their scheduled league game with Barrow on 3 January also having been postponed due to the Bluebirds' FA Cup clash with Middlesbrough.
Histon and Cambridge officials are due to meet later this week to arrange a new date for the derby.
