Russon is in his first season as vice-chairman at Edgar Street
Hereford United vice-chairman Tim Russon says manager Simon Davey still has the backing of the board - but warned results must improve.
The Bulls are bottom of League Two with just one win this season.
Russon told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "The manager has come in and we have backed him as he has built a squad.
"In a way he has got to be given time to let that squad try and develop but at the same time there is a cut-off point and he knows that."
Russon and chairman David Keyte took over at Edgar Street following the departure of Graham Turner for Shrewsbury during the summer.
They appointed former Barnsley boss Davey as manager but he has endured a difficult start to life at Edgar Street.
Russon said: "Both of us think, 'Well, what do you do? The knee-jerk reaction is the easy option', but you have also got to think of what comes next and it is a huge decision to make."
Hereford have not won since the first day of the season when they beat Crewe 1-0.
They have suffered two home defeats this week, losing 3-1 to Southend on Saturday before Tuesday's 4-1 loss to Stevenage.
On Saturday they face fellow strugglers Barnet but the board will not be handing Davey any ultimatums.
"I don't think it's fair to say, 'If you don't win this one then you are out of a job'," he said.
"We don't need to put any pressure on the manager. He is a professional manager and he doesn't need anyone to say the pressure is on - he knows the pressure is on."
