Janos Kovacs praises Hereford United boss Simon Davey
Kovacs becomes Hereford United manager Simon Davey's first signing
Hereford United's new signing Janos Kovacs believes manager Simon Davey is the right man to take the club forward.
The Hungarian centre-half, 24, who left Luton Town at the end of the season, is Davey's first signing as Bulls boss.
Kovacs told BBC Hereford & Worcester the former Barnsley manager was one of his main reasons for joining the club.
"From my first meeting with Simon Davey I knew straight away this is where I wanted to play next season. It was an easy decision to make," he said.
"Davey is a very experienced manager. He's trying to do the same things at Hereford United as he did at Barnsley in the Championship. Who knows, maybe one day we can play in the same level."
Kovacs says he was impressed with Davey's long-term vision for Hereford United.
"He's trying to build a good football club not just a squad," he said. "He's looking forward not just for a couple of months and that's why I signed a two-year contract."
Kovacs, who began his career in England with Chesterfield, moved to Kenilworth Road in January on a five-month deal following his release by Lincoln City.
The former MTK trainee also had a loan spell at York City while at Chesterfield in 2003.
