Darren Randolph has joined the Bulls on a season-long loan
Hereford United have missed out on signing striker Gary Hooper after the player opted to join Scunthorpe United.
But the Bulls have brought in young Charlton Athletic goalkeeper Darren Randolph on a season-long loan.
He spent two months last season out on loan at Bury, playing a starring role in a 0-0 draw at Edgar Street in March.
He made a string of fine saves which led to Bulls boss Graham Turner saying during a post-match interview that he was "glad to see the back of him".
Randolph, first-choice keeper for the Republic of Ireland U21s, was called up to the senior squad for the European Championships qualifier in San Marino.
He played twice for the Addicks early last season in Carling Cup ties against Stockport County and Luton Town.
As for Hooper, Bulls boss Graham Turner told BBC Hereford and Worcester that his agent had let him know the player was heading elsewhere.
"Although we had made an offer and agreed a fee with Southend, three more clubs came in," he said. "His agent felt he had the right to listen to offers from us, but I think he'll have gone for quite a big offer."
