Turner has not ruled himself out of the running for the manager's job
Hartlepool caretaker boss Chris Turner says he will use the transfer window to bolster the club's attacking options.
Pools have lost the services of on-loan Coventry striker Kevin Kyle who returns to his parent club and Turner admitted a new striker could be on the agenda.
"Kevin leaves us now; he's had his three months," the club's director of sport told BBC Tees.
"We've only got David Foley, Michael Mackay and Joel Porter in that area so we'll have to have a look at that."
Turner faces the task of lifting his side following successive defeats at the hands of Scunthorpe United and Crewe Alexandra over the festive period, defeats that saw Pools ship seven goals in total.
And the former goalkeeper, who made 195 appearances for North East neighbours Sunderland, has urged his players to tighten up defensively and improve on their disappointing away form.
"It's embarrassing, because in a lot of those games we've played well and we should have got something out of them," he said.
"It's poor and it's something we've got to improve on, because it's going to keep us in mid-table if we keep losing games away from home.
"If we were winning games away from home then we would be in the top bracket."
