Scunthorpe strengthened their promotion challenge with a comfortable victory over managerless Hartlepool.
Grant McCann gave Scunthorpe the lead in the 32nd minute, direct from a 25-yard free kick.
The home side made it 2-0 early in the second half when Gary Hooper did well under pressure to steer a right-foot shot past keeper Arran Lee-Barrett.
In the 89th minute sub Paul Hayes made it 3-0 when he converted a penalty after Ben May had been pulled down.
