| Tuesday, 18 February, 2003, 17:23 GMT Westwood signs new deal Hartlepool United defender Chris Westwood is the latest player to sign a new, extended contract at Victoria Park. Westwood, 25, has followed team-mates Micky Barron and Adam Boyd in committing himself to the Third Division title favourites by agreeing a deal until June, 2005. The former Wolves player has been an ever-present in helping Pool charge to the top of the table this season. He has chalked up 149 League starts since arriving from Molineux in March, 1998. Manager Mike Newell said: "I am delighted that Chris has agreed this extension to his contract. "He sometimes doesn't get the recognition he deserves, but his professionalism and consistency is an example to the others," Newell told Pool's website. |
