Kidderminster Harriers have turned down Grimsby Town's request to talk to Steve Burr about their managerial vacancy.

The Mariners made an approach for Darlington boss Mark Cooper, but he announced on Thursday that he was staying at the Arena.

Grimsby are looking for a replacement for Neil Woods, who left last week.

A Harriers statement read: "After careful consideration and consultation with Steve himself, we have decided to deny Grimsby Town this permission."

It added: "The club is currently in discussions with Steve about his own future here at Kidderminster Harriers. No further information is available at this time."
