Darlington chairman Singh aims to retain boss Cooper
Cooper has also managed Kettering Town and Peterborough United
Darlington chairman Raj Singh is determined to keep boss Mark Cooper despite receiving an official approach from an unnamed club.
Cooper took over as manager in June last year, after previous bosses Simon Davey and Ryan Kidd both left in the space of a fortnight.
"It would be a shame to lose him as we're working really well," Singh told the club's match-day programme.
"This is an appeal to our fans, past and present, to get behind the club."
Singh added: "I want them to show me and the manager the kind of support we need to move on."
Mark has told me that he'd like to stay and wants to get this club promoted

Since taking charge Cooper has led the Quakers to the FA Trophy semi-finals, and has established the club safely in mid-table after an indifferent start to the campaign, although they have games in hand on all but three of the sides above them.
"Mark has told me that he'd like to stay and wants to get this club promoted," Singh added.
"But I understand he has his future and security to think about as well.
"For me that's pleasing in a way, because it shows the kind of regard our manager is held by other clubs."
