Grimsby Town have signed Congolese striker Serge Makofo on a three-year deal from Blue Square Bet Premier rivals Kettering Town.
The 24-year-old, who joined the Poppies for his second spell in August, goes straight into The Mariners' squad for Saturday's game with Crawley Town.
"He will bring pace and athleticism to the squad," Grimsby assistant manager Dave Moore told BBC Radio Humberside.
"He'll definitely offer something that we don't have in abundance."
Makofo played for Kettering in 2006/07 before spells at Croydon Athletic, Maidenhead United and Burton Albion.
