Sinclair unsure of permanent Grimsby move

Dean Sinclair
Sinclair was released by Charlton at the end of last season.

Former Grimsby Town loan midfielder Dean Sinclair says he wants to remain a league player next season.

Sinclair, 25, who was released by Charlton, says he has had no approach from the Mariners about a deal.

He told BBC Radio Humberside: "My preference would be to stay in the league and play as high as possible.

"If the right deal was there I'd think about it, but it will probably be two weeks before the start of pre-season before I'll know where I'm going."

Sinclair has had two separate loan spells with Grimsby over the last two seasons, making 25 appearances in total, and whilst he would prefer to stay in the league he is not ruling out a permanent move to Blundell Park.

"Obviously I'm a free agent now and I've got to bide my time and see what my options are.

"I'm interested but haven't spoken to anybody from the club but if they contact my agent then we'll go from there."

Sinclair previously won promotion to the Football League with Barnet in 2005 when they were also crowned Conference champions.
