Grimsby Town have completed the signing of goalkeeper Nick Colgan after he was released by Sunderland.
The 35-year-old stopper has penned a two-year contract at Blundell Park and linked up with his new team-mates on their pre-season trip to Devon.
"I came down and spoke to the manager Mike Newell and I was very impressed by him and his plans," said Colgan.
"It was Mike that sold me Grimsby Town. You know what you're getting with him, he's a straight talker."
Colgan, who had a brief spell at Grimsby in 1994, added: "I was here 15 years ago and nothing much has changed."
The Republic of Ireland international has not played a first-team game in almost two years after joining Sunderland from Ipswich last summer.
