Fans' takeover beneficial - Daish

Manager Liam Daish is keen to give young players a chance

Ebbsfleet United boss Liam Daish has said the takeover by fans' website MyFootballClub has brought benefits to the Blue Square Premier club.

When the plans were first put forward there were concerns from some of the Fleet's long-term supporters.

Daish told BBC Radio Kent: "In hindsight I expected a few more problems but it's run smoothly.

"You've got to give credit to the people involved and the members who have appreciated what we try to do."

"I think MyFootballClub members and fans alike are getting a real insight into what the club's about because it's a little bit more open now.

"We're more of an open book and I think that can help."

MyFootballClub has more than 28,000 members, spread over 80 countries.

They can have their say on team selection, vote on player transfers as well as other decisions affecting the club.

Striker Michael Gash's move was aided by a MyFootballClub initiative, which raised 20,000 for Daish to invest in his squad.

The decision to sell striker Jon Akinde to Bristol City for 140,000 was voted on by the MyFootballClub members.
