Live: Wimbledon v Dover commentary

Dover boss Andy Hessenthaler
Hessenthaler played Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter-finals while at Gillingham

Dover Athletic manager Andy Hessenthaler is expected to start for the Whites in their FA Cup replay against AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday.

The 42-year-old, who played in the quarter-finals of the competition for Gillingham against Chelsea in 2000, is likely to start due to squad fatigue.

He told BBC Radio Kent: "There's a few players who are looking a bit tired.

"The likes of Alan Pouton and John Keister are getting on in years and two games in two days isn't easy for them."

Hessenthaler added: "There's a possibility I might start and if I do I'm certainly looking forward to that.

"They [AFC Wimbledon] are a good side, they're going well in their league and they've got some good players.

"On Saturday [which ended in a 0-0 draw] we performed very well and it's just unfortunate we didn't take the chances we created."

We know it's going to be a real test on their home patch

AFC Wimbledon play a league above Dover, in Blue Square South, but after their goalless draw at Crabble on Saturday, their manager Terry Brown described Hessenthaler's side as the best team they had faced all season.

Hessenthaler said: "It's a nice compliment from Terry to say that but we've got to make sure we go there and put another good performance on and hopefully that'll be good enough.

"We know it's going to be a real test on their home patch."

If Dover win they will face fellow Kent side Maidstone in the fourth qualifying round.
