Barham is enjoying his best year on the European Tour |
Ashford golfer Benn Barham has said he is confident he will retain his European Tour card despite missing the last four cuts. Barham, 32, is currently 108th on the European Order of Merit, with the top 115 guaranteed cards for next year. He told BBC Radio Kent: "Prize money-wise I think I've secured my card. "But it's just not very satisfying when you've missed four cuts in a row, I play every week like I want to win the tournament, it's just annoying." He added: "If I'm missing cuts it's very frustrating whether I'm 200th on the Order of Merit or 30th. "I've got this week in Portugal and the week after in Valencia and hopefully I can get my game together and have a couple of good weeks." Barham achieved his best finish on the European Tour at the Russian Open in July, coming third. He also came fourth at the Wales Open at Celtic Manor in June.
