Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler happy with goal spread
Hessenthaler is in his second spell in charge of Gillingham
Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler is delighted with the number of players scoring for his team this season.
There were five different goal scorers during the Gills' 6-1 away drubbing of Hereford which Hessenthaler says makes a pleasing change from last season.
"You never want to rely on individuals to get goals which we did with Cody [McDonald] and [Adebayo] Akinfenwa last year," he told BBC Radio Kent.
"It's good to spread the goals around, and to have people contributing."
After a winless streak of four games Gillingham responded with an explosive display at Edgar Street which Hessenthaler thinks bodes well for the season.
"If you can get other players scoring in games you will be where you want to be at the end of the season."
Hessenthaler reserved particular praise for new loan signing Frank Nouble, who capped an excellent debut with a goal.
"He looks good," said Hessenthaler. "He's hungry and young and has decent pedigree with his Premier League experience and gives us another option."
