Gillingham eye lucrative cup run

Gillingham boss Mark Stimson
Stimson's side will play Burton in the FA Cup second round

Gillingham insist they will be taking their FA Cup second round game against Burton Albion just as seriously as their fight to stay in League One.

The Gills know victory could put them in line for a big money tie against a Premier League club in round three.

"We seriously want to get through to the next round," manager Mark Stimson told BBC Radio Kent.

"Last year a packed house against Aston Villa was financially huge for us. The boys will be going out to get the win."

But Stimson has warned his players that their League Two opponents on Saturday must not be underestimated.

"Burton are a good side," he said.

"I faced them many times in the conference and they always played good football.

"They've still got some good footballers there who I know quite a lot about, so we'll be giving them as much respect as we give Charlton or Yeovil in our league."
