Denly made his England debut against Ireland in August |
Former England captain Michael Vaughan says Kent opener Joe Denly has the quality to have "a long and sustained" career with the national team. Denly was dropped for England's second one-day international in South Africa, after the opener was washed out. "He's at the start of the learning curve as an international player," Vaughan told BBC Radio Kent. "But he's definitely got the attributes to get back into the team whenever his chance comes." Warwickshire's Jonathan Trott took Denly's spot as opener in the second one-day international against South Africa, scoring 87 in England's seven-wicket win. "Unfortunately for him, Joe's lost his place to a someone who's done very, very well. "He'll have to fight his way back into the team. "But when he does hopefully he'll have a long and sustained international career," Vaughan added.
