Gillingham strikers Gary Mulligan and Dennis Oli could make a timely return to action in Saturday's home game against Port Vale.
Fellow frontman Mark McCammon faces a three-match ban after his red card in the 2-1 weekend defeat at Aldershot.
But manager Mark Stimson says Mulligan (ankle) and Oli (foot) are both close to fitness following injury.
He told BBC Radio Kent: "They could be available next week and they are two players who can play down the middle."
Stimson has been trying to add to his strikeforce all season without success.
He added: "We'd love another striker or two but there aren't many available who would add to what we've got. But it isn't as if we aren't looking.
"We've made enquiries but people are tied up and don't want to leave their clubs at the moment."
