McCammon has scored one goal in eight games this season

Gillingham have failed to overturn the red card that Mark McCammon was shown in Saturday's defeat by Aldershot.

The Gills had appealed against his sending-off, which came for a challenge on Shots keeper Nikki Bull, but the original decision was upheld.

McCammon will miss the League Two games against Port Vale and Exeter, plus the Johnstone's Paint Trophy second round match against Colchester on 7 October.

The 30-year-old has scored one goal in his first eight games for the club.
