Gills expected to unveil new boss
Peter Taylor and Mark Stimson have been linked with the Gills job

Iffy Onuora believes a new manager is likely to be appointed at Gillingham this week - and it will not be him.

Stevenage's Mark Stimson and former Gills boss Peter Taylor have been linked with the post Onuora has filled temporarily since Ronnie Jepson quit.

"I'm sure the week ahead will unfold interestingly," Onuora told Radio Kent.

"I just feel and am led to believe there will be an appointment this week - let's watch this space. There just seems to be momentum there."

He added: "With the midweek and Saturday games coming hard on the heels it wasn't the best time and something hadn't been sorted.

"I'm speculating the same as anybody. I haven't been made aware of names, there just seems to be a groundswell of opinion."

However, Stevenage chairman Phil Wallace recently blocked approaches from both Gillingham and Port Vale to hold talks with Stimson.
