Forest Green sign trio of players

Dave Hockaday
Dave Hockaday's first signings come just two days after being appointed

New Forest Green boss Dave Hockaday has wasted little time in rebuilding his squad with three new signings ahead of his first game in charge on Saturday.

Hockaday has signed midfielder Lewwis Spence on loan from Wycombe in time for the home game with Ebbsfleet.

And, after shipping 16 goals in their first five away games, Hockaday has also strengthened his defence.

Ex-Southampton reserve defender Jeffrey Imudia and former Crystal Palace keeper David Wilkinson have also signed.

Londoner Spence, 21, who also used to be on Palace's books, has signed on a one-month loan in a bid tog et match practice.

After missing the majority of pre-season training with a foot injury, he has played just one game this season, Wycombe's Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat last week by Northampton Town.

Imudia, 18, who was on the books at both Arsenal and Everton in his school days, has had trials at both Bournemouth and Swindon Town since being released by Southampton in June.

Croydon-born Wilkinson, 21, who was released by Palace in the summer was an ever-present in their team that reached the quarter finals of the FA Youth Cup a couple of years ago.

He has appeared on the Palace first-team bench and has experience of non-League football, having spent four months out on loan at Eastleigh from January 2008, and a spell last season with Welling United .

Hockaday has joined a Forest Green side who have picked up just two points from their first nine leaque games this season and are kept off the bottom of the Blue Square Premier only by hapless Chester's 25-point penalty.
