Matt Gill scored in all of Exeter City's League Two matches in September

Exeter City midfielder Matt Gill has been named as the League Two player of the month for September.

Gill scored a goal in each of City's four games last month as they won two, drew one and lost one.

The 27-year-old, who joined the Grecians from Notts County in 2006, had only scored 10 goals in his career before last month.

Bury's Andy Bishop, Ben Davies of Shrewsbury Town and Wycombe's Scott Shearer were also shortlisted.
