Exeter produced an outstanding display to brush aside in-form Macclesfield.

The Grecians were ahead after 47 seconds when Richard Logan hooked a Matt Gill long throw onto the crossbar and Adam Stansfield volleyed home.

Exeter added a second after 35 minutes when Ryan Harley scored from the edge of the box, but Simon Yeo pulled one back on the stroke of half-time.

Stansfield then scored from six yards three minutes after the break and Gill added the fourth late on.
