Daish says he received an apology from York's directors

Ebbsfleet United manager Liam Daish says York City's directors and manager apologised to him for a tackle by Richard Brodie on Fleet's Dean Pooley.

York's 24-goal top scorer was dismissed and midfielder Pooley had three stitches in a head wound.

Daish told BBC Radio Kent: "York's directors apologised and so did their manager. I think Brodie's frustration got the better of him."

Pooley said: "I don't think [Brodie] had any right to go for the ball."

He added: "I didn't realise what had happened until I hit the ground and saw the blood.

"No sooner had I reached the dressing room than I wanted to get out there and help the lads to what was a great win."

Fleet sprung a major surprise by beating promotion-chasing York 1-0 with a goal from Moses Ashikodi.
