Players must learn fast - Daish

Daish had to deal with budget cuts during a difficult summer

Ebbsfleet United manager Liam Daish says his new squad will have to grow up quickly if they are to survive in the Blue Square Premier this season.

Budget cuts meant Daish had to start from scratch this season, and only one of his players is older than 24.

"The one thing we haven't got is time. The players have got to come in straight away and get adjusted very quickly," Daish told BBC Radio Kent.

The Fleet go into their game at Mansfield still looking for a win.

"It's a little bit of sink or swim," said Daish.

"But that was the position we are in.

"We had a budget to keep. I got players in that were within that budget.

"It's now down to trying to make that work and make the players work and make sure they keep the club in this league."

BBC Radio Kent will have website commentary of Mansfield Town v Ebbsfleet Utd at bbc.co.uk/kent
