Eastbourne sign Farnborough man Sacha Opinel on loan
Opinel lifted the FA Trophy with Ebbsfleet in 2008
Eastbourne Borough have completed the signing of Farnborough defender Sacha Opinel on a one-month loan deal.
The 32-year-old Frenchman was released by Ebbsfleet United in the summer and has been playing in the Southern League Premier Division this season.
The former Raith player lifted the FA Trophy with the Fleet in 2008 after spells with Crawley and Farnborough.
He goes straight into the squad for Borough's Blue Square Premier match against Rushden & Diamonds on Tuesday.
Farnborough boss Steve King told his club website: "Sacha has had a spell out of the side due to the recent poor weather and suspension.
"He acknowledges the current form of Nic Ciardini, Jamie Stevens and new signing Craig Braham-Barrett and he was frank in his opinion that it would be better for all parties that he was playing as opposed to sitting on the bench.
"It is testament to his ability, experience and reputation that he has signed for a club at the highest level of non-league football. He remains very much part of my plans."
